5-HTP, or 5-hydroxytryptophan, is the immediate precursor of serotonin. Low levels of serotonin are associated with sleep problems, depression, anxiety, compulsive disorders (including eating disorders), restless leg syndrome, migraines, fibromyalgia, and low pain threshold. Many people that are afflicted with one of those conditions often have others, which has led some researchers to label them collectively as "Low Serotonin Syndrome".

Alpha lipoic acid is a vitamin-like antioxidant that is produced naturally in the body and found in certain foods such as potatoes and red
meat. It is the only fat and water soluble free radical antioxidant, therefore, it is easily absorbed and transported across cell membranes, protecting us against free radicals both inside and outside our
cells. Alpha lipoic acid has been used for years throughout Europe to treat and prevent complications associated with diabetes, including neuropathy, macular degeneration and
cataracts.

A multi combination of known anti-oxidants.Antioxidants protect cells from free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of oxygen metabolism that are known to contribute to the development of some chronic diseases, including cancer and heart disease the 2 biggest killers in the Western World.
A comprehensive formula containing both water and fat soluble antioxidants thus protecting a wider variety of the body's organs. Antioxidants mop up free radicals which gradually cause the destruction of all the tissues of the
body.

Beta-carotene is an antioxidant nutrient that the body converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A (retinol) is a yellow, fat-soluble solid terpene alcohol obtained from some carotenoids by conversion in the liver where it is stored. While carotenoids are widely distributed in such foods as green and yellow vegetables, retinol is not found in any vegetable sources, but is concentrated in egg yolks and the livers of many animals. Vitamin A, either from animal sources or synthesized in our own liver, is essential for growth and protection from various
diseases.

Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillusare) are rich in flavonoids - antioxidant nutrients which help to protect the body's cells from damage by excess free radicals. The bilberry is famous for its strong colouring properties, it turns the tongue a lovely dark purple! But this colouring substance also has a useful purpose, the discolouration is caused by the chemical anthocyanins - a potent flavanone.
Compared to the other berries, bilberries are particularly rich in this
substance.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that exists in eight different forms. Each form has its own biological activity, the measure of potency or functional use in the body. Alpha-tocopherol is the most active form of vitamin E in humans, and is a powerful biological antioxidant.
Antioxidants such as vitamin E act to protect your cells against the effects of free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of the body’s metabolism. Free radicals can cause cell damage that may contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease and
cancer.
